This project was a dining and living area extension adjoining the kitchen that needed to be brought to life, a blank canvas craving colour and creativity to bring together the original home and the new space. The homeowner’s travels were a major influence, with some fabulous original features and accessories to work with, which worked well with the Ikat fabric specified.
A pair of reclaimed hand carved Indonesian doors, the detail and depth of the carving producing a high impact visual interest and texture, together with an authentic colourful rug and accessories were the influence for the design to blend the old with the new. A major element of the design was the Louis Poulsen pendants used to encompass the full colour scheme into the lightwell space above the original bespoke dining table.
