The Haslemere Townhouse clients’ opted for a multiple room Studio Design by Studio Black and enjoyed a process which was new to them. The design development proceeded throughout the first Covid-19 lockdown relatively seamlessly, followed by Studio Black’s project management optimising every stage of the Studio Design service enabling works to continue throughout the unusual working environment of 2020. The traditional townhouse maximised its small footprint with multiple floors and a bespoke staircase was replaced. Studio Black managed the bespoke joinery sub-contractor to replace the staircase encapsulation and to provide a bespoke kitchen bar seating area, together with a unique understairs bar space.

The interior design scheme complimented the original wall coverings and furnishings the client wished to retain, thereby keeping the costs within budget. A spreadsheet giving Management of Costs as part of the Studio Design service was updated regularly, enabling the client to make decisions quickly and efficiently. The access to trade only suppliers greatly enhanced the end result, giving the client more value for their money, especially important in the midst of a pandemic.
